A BRIEF HISTORY OF WESTINGHOUSE
The company was founded by Westinghouse in Pennsylvania. Electricity was the focus of his invention from the beginning, and his company was even considered a rival of Thomas Edison’s. Westinghouse was a pioneer in the electricity and power industry, producing a wide range of items, including steam turbine engines, electric stoves, gas turbines, and even nuclear power and international short-wave radio broadcasting.
In 1893, 25,000 Westinghouse lights were used to illuminate the famous Chicago World’s Fair. Thanks to this and much more, Westinghouse became synonymous with power on grand scale, from supplying massive power at renown events, to lightbulbs in residential homes. Though the company has reinvented itself, Westinghouse is still synonymous with power.
