    2nd Westinghouse Igen

Posted by John Bertram on Aug 18, 2021

This is our second unit, an upgrade from the 2200ixlt we first bought. It still ran fine after 5 years but I wanted a little more output and some of the new features like the data center. This unit, like the first, starts on the first pull and is very quiet. I like that the physical size is the same as our other one and is only 2# heavier. I ran tests and it handles the loads and surges stated in the specifications. We look forward to good use from this unit too. APElectric shipped faster than estimated. Availability was good and price was competitive. Highly recommend this vendor.

This is my second iGen 2500

I purchased my first iGen2500 a year ago. We use it for our fifth wheel camper. It runs quiet but is still a bit louder than the Honda 2000. We live at approximately 4000 feet in elevation and it would not run my 13.5K AC. At the time Westinghouse did not offer a high altitude kit. So this year I purchased another generator and parrell cable. Then I found out that Westinghouse now has the high altitude kit available. I purchased the kit and installed it in my first iGen 2500 and plugged in the camper. I'll be darned if it didn't run the AC with power to spare. So I'm happy with both and may
still need to parallel since much of the use will be between 6000 and 9000 feet. These units are much quieter than my old Coleman generator. And for the price difference the small difference in volume is hardly noticeable. I'm a pretty happy camper at this point. And as has been mentioned they both start darn easy.

    Powered my 13.5k BTU AC

Posted by Dave on Jun 11, 2019

Purchased this for our camper. Tried it out this weekend and was happy to discover that it would start the 13.5k BTU AC. Unit is fairly quiet and super easy to start. So far, I'm very pleased.
AP Electric was good to deal with. I'd order from them again if I needed another generator.

    Easy start

Fairly quiet. Ran my coffee maker and microwave at the same time. Would not run my 13.5 btu ac with nothing else on.

    Igen2500 is awesome and quiet.

I bought the igen2500 as a small, quiet, efficient inverter generator to have around after a hurricane in S. Florida. So far, it’s worked great. Tested on a 10000 BTU Honeywell AC. No issues. Ran at 50% load or around 1100-1200 watts for the AC. Plenty left to power the refrigerator as well. All we need is to keep one room cool to sleep and the food cold.
Definitely seems like a great investment.

    Great Generator, Great Price

Posted by Unknown on Aug 07, 2018

I have a WH2400i which is a good generator. However, it barely powered my RV microwave and no AC. The iGen2500 will run my 13,500 BTU AC just fine. Running both generators in parallel runs all RV appliances with no problem. I now use the iGen2500 as the primary unit. Quiet, great price, good power. Very pleased!

    Great generator

Posted by JA on Jun 18, 2018

Great generator and great service from AP electric. Had to install a soft start from micro air on my 13,500 btu AC unit on the camper and once that was installed, this unit runs my AC on Eco mode.
