Replacement Charger works well
Kohler GM96383 replaces the old GM28341 charger that came with my 14RES generator set. New charger is easy to install and works better then the original equipment charger.

Perfect replacement
I did not have to splice in the + and - wires to the battery. I just cut the original wires to the battery. Then the new charger comes with wires that easily connect directly to the battery terminals. Very simple.

The battery charge was easy to install and screwed in exactly where the old faulty one was.

Updated OEM
Works fine.
Could not run leads due to interference - cut an spliced into place. Apparently the original was installed during assembly as there is no way to install a replacement without near total unit disassembly.
