Kohler 20kW 50Hz/60 Hz home generator runs on a powerful Kohler CH1000 4-Cycle, 30.9 HP, V-2 engine with maximum 3600 RPM. The heavy-duty, commercial-grade engine stands up to extreme weather. - The cylinder head is made of aluminum while the fuel solenoid valves are made of steel. The pistons are made of aluminum alloy.

Kohler 20RESC is an air-cooled model that keeps the family safe and comfortable during a power outage. It's spot on with it's diagnostics and runs very quiet. During testing it handled the full load required of it. So far I'm happy with the Kohler recommendation.

Kohler makes an excellent generator self-contained package. This is my second one bought for home use. AP Electric has been wonderful to work with. Solid advice before selecting --- calling me to verify this is not a scam purchase or someone using my credit card --- prompt shipping --- one of the owner-managers even celled to ask if everything arrived in good condition. It doesn't get any better than that.

This was a really great decision from purchasing here to the unit itself. I documented the install with pictures here http://gladue.com/windsor/generator Purchasing your own materials and hiring your own contractors saves you about 50%. I wrapped up this project for about 10 grand with natural gas new install. It would have been about 20 grand if I just hired the Kohler dealer to do it.

The Kohler 20 kW residential unit seems to be a high quality, reasonably quiet , attractive unit and a good value for the money. The unit came lift gate delivered in just a few days. (Weighs about 500 lbs.) Pay by check and save 2% with AP Electric. I have only tested with a partial load but took it just fine. I have two ASCO 200 amp transfer switches in my electrical service so I use the "2 wire"start feature - not available on Generac similar residential units. It has a built in battery charger. The wiring compartment where the conduits come in is a little bit small but can be done. Hook it up using "Liquid-Tite"flexible conduit and fittings. Run a data cable in conduit if you want to use the On Cue software. I like the On Cue software and I run the exercise cycles manually through my computer when I am home. I like the e-mail notification feature.

I made a couple of calls and each time a person answered the phone immediately (no waiting) and was helpful in answering my questions and was pleasant. I ordered the generator Thursday afternoon and it arrived on Monday. That is great service. The Kohler generator enclosure is very attractive top quality and for sure the generator inside the enclosure is TOP QUALITY!

The Carrier delivered the generator in good condition and the Driver was very courteous. The Generator has not been installed at the present time
