At the heart of the 12RESV is the Kohler Series 7000 KT725 V-twin engine, designed for strong, air-cooled performance and easy field conversion between natural gas and LPG. The RDC2 digital controller—shown on pages 1 and 3 of the spec sheet—monitors voltage, frequency, engine temperature, oil pressure, battery health, runtime hours, and more, while offering programmable exercise modes and built-in Ethernet for OnCue® Plus remote monitoring. With fuel consumption as low as 6.1 m³/hr NG or 2.9 m³/hr LPG at full load (page 3), the system delivers power efficiently while maintaining emissions compliance for both fuel types.
Designed for simplified installation, the 12RESV includes a corrosion-protected steel enclosure, a steel base, a hinged locking roof, and through-wall fuel and electrical connections—eliminating the need for slab stub-ups. The enclosure is rated to withstand 181 mph winds (page 1) and uses UL 94 HF-1 flame-retardant sound-deadening foam to keep noise levels low. During weekly exercise, sound averages 67 dB, with a lowest-point reading of 64 dB (page 3). Kohler is the best
I was thrilled when Kohler came out with the 12resv because I only needed about 10kw for my generator and was going to go with a 14resa. From what I can tell the "L" are not as good of models so I bought the single generator and then got an ASCO switch to use with it. Couldn't have been any easier than that. On top of that a free faucet came with it, not exactly my choice to get it however it is pretty cool. I had it installed and it works like the auto-faucets in buildings. Your price was about the same as everyone else and you had it in stock. Happy with buying my residential generator and doing business with AP.
