This machine is definitely well constructed using heavy gauge tubular and plate steel bolted together using oversized fasteners. It's built like a tank.
Uses a brushless Mecc Alte Alternator.
15 gal fuel tank is steel with a large, quality metal, 1/4 turn cap with a debris cup/screen and large opening.
The only plastic on this machine that I can find is on the Honda engine's air filter and dust covers and the start/key/choke control bracket. Comes full of oil (full synthetic I believe). The "YourGen" backlit display is real nice. I just wish it showed actual watts or amps instead of load bars. But it's not necessary and it would likely require sensitive and probably delicate circuitry to show accurate current readings anyway. It does display L1, L2 then L1+L2, voltages, Hertz, run time (1/10 hr resolution) and RPM that continuously scrolls while running.
Run hours always display when off, and the engine also has a run hour display that shows when the key is switch on.
Has no pull start option, electric start only.
I put a 4800 watt (240v) load and ran for about 30 min without ANY reduction in voltage or Hz during this test. Engine ran very smooth and not as loud as I thought. In fact, I think it's quieter than my B&S 8000w portable.
Be aware that without the 4 wheel-kit, it will take some sort of overhead lift to move this thing. Even with the wheels, on anything other than flat, hard surface, it will almost require 2 people to move it. Built like a tank but at almost 400lbs it's heavy like a tank too.
