CAT RP5500 5500W Portable Generator Features:

  • CAT RP5500 is a portable generator built from solid steel with a decreased vibration framework. It is designed for versatile use. It runs on a reliable Caterpillar OHV 300cc engine with a maximum 3600-RPM and has a recoil start.
  • This 120v/240v 60 Hz CAT generator produces 6875 Starting Watts and 5500 Running Watts. The runtime at 50% load is 15 hours.
  • The 5.5kW generator has a splash oil lubrication system. Recommended oil is SAE30 or 10W-30. Oil tank stores 1.1 qt / 1 L. When the oil level is low the engine protects itself by shutting down.
  • The large metal fuel tank stores 7.9 gallons/ 30 Liters of unleaded gasoline, 10% ethanol or less.
  • CAT RP5500 has an efficient alternator that adjusts the engine speed to the load without dropping power to other appliances. It runs on various RPM.
  • The clean high-quality electricity that it produces protects all home appliances.
  • The generator is easy to move around with the padded, double-hinged handle and never go flat tires. It takes up less storage space.
  • The 4-in-1 digital display shows voltage, frequency, running hours and total hours.
  • There are 3 Receptacles, two 5-20R GFCI Duplex GFCI and one L14-30R (Twist Lock).
  • Certifications include EPA, CARB, and CSA.
  • All CAT products are backed by a nationwide dealer network and multi-language call center.
  • It comes with a 2-year limited warranty that is extendable to 3-years when registered within 30- days.

CAT RP5500 is an affordable portable generator with the longest runtime available in its class. It can be used at home as an emergency source of power when utility power fails. The quiet running model with the heavy-duty frame provides clean power for your RV’s microwave, fridge, fans, and TV. At home, it will keep your fridge, freezer, washing machine, security system, and water heater running for as long as 15 hours. At the construction site, it can run all power tools.

This 5.5kW fuel-efficient model is very durable due to its all-steel construction. It works quietly without disturbing the neighbors. The model is designed to keep your safety in mind. The recessed sockets and water protected covers keep the connection between your devices and the generator dry. The ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCI) shut off power if they detect a problem. The engine slows down when the load is reduced and will speed up when you add more loads. This way it produces only as much power as you need.

The EPA Certified engine lasts longer than the competition. CAT RP5500 5500W outperforms other portable generators on the market. Enhanced safety features like automatic low-oil shutdown, covered wiring and added GFCI protection make it a preferable choice. The generator is easy to set up and operate. The unit is not so bulky and you will not have any problems carting it around. It is the perfect example of high quality combined with a reasonable price. Caterpillar builds products to last you a lifetime.

Hurricane Irma in Naples, Florida. This was the only generator available before the hurricane hit. This was a life saver for our family. Zero issues. It ran perfect for 22 hours straight on one tank of gas. We ran a side by side refrigerator. Two fans, assorted cell phones and iPads. We unplugged a fan and ran the microwave. Unplugged the microwave and plugged in large electric frying pan. The second day our neighbor came over and plugged in his side by side refrigerator and a fan. Zero issues. A second tank of gas and an oil change and we're good to go again. The third day our house power came back on. If you want to live after a hurricane, get this generator. It'll make your families life bearable after the power goes out.
